Relaxing plan for farm animals marked for slaughter
Farm animals destined for the slaughterhouse are to be allowed to spend their last few days relaxing on an Alpine pasture before being killed.
Austrian organic farmer Norbert Hackl said that the only part of the lives of his animals that is still managed on an industrial-factory scale was their deaths – and he wanted to change that with his organic slaughterhouse.
The plan is to make the animals last few days as pleasurable as possible before leadingb them down into the valley to the slaughterhouse – rather than a long journey by road only to be killed at the end.

The ruling Samajwadi Party has constituted a five-member disciplinary committee to look into complaints that some partymen worked against the party candidates in the recently-concluded Assembly election.
SP state spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said that partys national general secretary Ramgopal Yadav had constituted a five-member disciplinary committee to look into the complaints of anti-party activities in each district and submit a report to the state president by June 15.
Appropriate action would be taken against the erring partyman on the basis of the report within 15 days after its submission.

The nations largest community improvement movement, as the volunteer groups are known, got their hands dirty and feet wet as they cleaned walkways and waterways around the United States.
Keep America Beautiful — the nonprofit group that sponsored the Great American Cleanup National Day of Action — organized trash-clearing activities in nearly all 50 states, as well as special large-scale events in 10 locales, including Los Angeles.
